Hot Wheels Morris Mini

The original Mini was an innovative little car.  It really paved the way for legions of small cars that followed.  It made the transverse mounted engine and front wheel drive practical.  The Mini was made from 1959 to 2000 by a series of car companies including British Motor Corporation, British Leyland, and Rover Group.  It also was marketed under a variety of brand names.  However, the purpose of this blog is not to document the convoluted histories of British car companies.  Suffice it to say, this is the Hot Wheels version of the Morris Mini.

Even as a Hot Wheels car, it is a tiny little machine.  According to the Hot Wheels Wiki, the Austin Mini has been produced by Hot Wheels since 2000 and this particular one was released in 2011 as part of the Track Stars series.

It's a cute little car for the front pocket and I've taken quite a few pictures of the tiny Hot Wheels around town.

Overall, this car is a nice addition to any collection and it really is a very significant car in the history of the automobile.
