Hot Wheels Buick Grand National

Back in the 1980s, Buick created a monster based on the Buick Regal.  It was called the Buick Grand National.  It sported a turbo-charged V-6 and it could blow the doors off of any Corvette or Camaro.  It was the stuff of legends.  For example, the FBI reportedly ordered some and had the speed limiter removed allowing the car to reach speeds above 124 miles per hour.

This die-cast Buick Grand National is from Hot Wheels.  It's from their 2011 HW Performance series of cars.

While this casting is cool, most Buick Grand Nationals came in black.  That is the official color of bad ass.  The Grand National retired in 1987 when GM switched the big Buick from a rear-drive to front-drive platform.  Grandpa got his Buick back and the legend died.
