This 1973 Ford Falcon XB is part of the Hot Wheels All Stars collection from 2010. I love this first picture because I was able to make it look like it was parked in front of a row of stores. This style of photography is called "forced perspective" photography. The undisputed master of this style is a photography by the name of Michael Paul Smith who incorporates dioramas and real backgrounds. You can see more of his style in this
Petapixel article.
I'm much more casual with my die-cast car photography, but it is fun to show off interesting landmarks as backdrops. For example, below this Ford Falcon XB takes a visit to the Cobb Energy Center in suburban Atlanta. This location served as the Centers for Disease Control in the popular television series "
The Walking Dead." Fortunately, there don't seem to be any zombies on the loose now!
If the 1973 Ford Falcon XB's lines don't immediately trigger memories for American car enthusiasts, don't be alarmed. This is an Australian hot rod. It is most famous as the car from the movie -
Mad Max!
As the last of the V-8 Interceptors, the
Mad Max version of the 1973 Ford Falcon XB had a 351-cubic inch (5.8 liter) V-8. In the movie, it also had a super-charger for more power.

If you haven't seen Mad Max, you need to do so---posthaste and immediately. It's a great movie!
