This Hot Wheels 1971 Dodge Challenger RT has it all including a massive 426 cubic inch Hemi V-8 engine.  According to Wikipedia, it should be able to do a 13.2 second quarter mile with a top speed of 108 miles per hour.  With this one, you won't collect any traffic tickets.

Here's a cool looking Hot Wheels called Amazoom!  It looks great up on  a pedestal!

Hot Wheels 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang

This Hot Wheels Mustang looks good in black!  The air scoops are ominous and muscular.  They should be because this is no ordinary Ford Mustang.  It's a 1967 Shelby GT500!  According to Wikipedia, these bad boys had a 428 cubic inch Police Interceptor engine.  That's 7-liters of V-8 beast!

Matchbox Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud

This Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud Matchbox Car was a thrift store find.  It's seen better days and might need a bit of restoration.  It was only 70 cents and the purchase supported Atlanta's Union Mission.  Of course, if I can get this one fixed up, I might have to find one of those $12,000 Rolls-Royce on ebay!

This miniature Matchbox Morgan Aero Max looks great.

I took these under the lights at Charming Charlies--a women's accessories store that my wife was perusing.  The lights made this car look like a gem.

NASCAR Havoline #28 Ford

These thrift store race cars have obviously been weathered for years by real kids and now they look like they've really gone a few laps.  You'd pay extra for these in a hobby shop.  But, the thrift store had 'em for about $6 each.

Hot Wheels Callaway C7R Corvette

We haven't featured a Corvette lately so here's a nice one from Hot Wheels.  It's a Callaway C7R Corvette and it's made for the track.  So, I drew it a little track on a legal pad.

Maisto Studebaker Starliner

This car was too cool for the drugstore shelf so I had to buy it.  Studebakers almost always look great!

Maisto Porshe: I don't often buy Maisto 1:64 scale cars, but when I do . . .

. . . they are pretty darned cool.  I recently picked up this Porsche 356 cheap at the drugstore.  No expensive restoration project needed.

Mid-life Crisis? Here's your car!

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is a great choice for a mid-life crisis car.  Of course, this one from Hot Wheels is considerably cheaper than a divorce, mistress, alimony, and $1200 a month car payment.

One of my favorites, the AMC Javelin AMX

When I grew up my family had AMC station wagons.  I wish we would have had something like this AMC Javelin AMX from Hot Wheels.  That would have been awesome.  Of course, there wouldn't have been much of a view from the back seat!

Matchbox 1971 Chevy Camaro Z-28

The Camaro's of the 1970's don't get the respect they deserve.  But, this 1:62-scale blue Chevy Camaro Z-28 from Matchbox pays its respects very well.  It looks good after a recent rain shower.

1967 Volkswagen Beetle

This surfer-style VW caught my eye on a recent trip to my local CVS drugstore.  It's a 1967 Beetle and retails for about $5.  Sometimes die-cast cars don't have to be expensive to evoke the spirit of the real cars.
